Our Mission: Making Disciples of the Next Generation
At SalemKids, we are intentionally focused on our mission to make disciples of the next generation. We have identified nine key truths about God that we believe every child should know by the time they transition to Student Ministry. These truths build on each other as children progress from Preschool to Elementary, reinforced through special tools and opportunities called “Points of Emphasis” each month. While not an exhaustive picture of discipleship, The Path provides a strong starting place for every child’s faith journey.
The 9 Key Truths of The Path
Preschool Key Truths
- The Bible is God’s Word, teaching us who God is and how He wants us to live.
- God the Father is the Creator of all things, loves us, and has a plan for us.
- Jesus is God’s Son, fully God and fully man, who came as the Savior of the world.
- The Holy Spirit is God’s Spirit, with us now, guiding us to live for God.
- God deserves to be worshiped.
- We can talk to God through prayer.
- Church is where we learn about God, worship together, and make friends.
- Sin separates us from God, but His love offers us a way back.
- We should tell others about God.
Elementary Key Truths
- The Bible is God’s Holy Word, guiding us to live for our good and His glory.
- The Trinity is God as one being, existing as three distinct persons.
- Sin is anything we do that disobeys how God calls us to live.
- Jesus’ death and resurrection is the only payment for our sins and the path to eternal life.
- We are commanded to share the Good News with everyone, finding joy in it.
- God deserves our worship in every moment of our lives.
- Prayer is how we speak to God, sharing every praise, need, and concern.
- Church is where we sing praises, worship God, learn about Him, and build relationships for a godly life.
- God desires an everlasting relationship that begins in our daily life on earth.
