DEACON RECOMMENDATIONS

The Deacon Ministry at Salem is rooted in Acts 6:1–6 and 1 Timothy 3:8–13. The word deacon comes from the Greek word diakonos, meaning “servant.” As we enter this important season, we are asking God to call out men with servant hearts to help lead and care for our church family.

RECOMMENDATION PROCESS PER SALEM BY-LAWS

RECOMMENDATION PERIOD // May 1–May 31, 2025

Men recommended must:

  • Be at least 25 years old
  • Have been a member of Salem for at least one year by September 1, 2025

Serving Through 2025 • Brian Barger, Don Campbell, Chris Henry, John Woodall, RG Lewallen, Matt Moore, Steven Smith, Austin Wheat

Serving Through 2026 • Erech Atchley, Mike Bounds, Jason Cook, Cory Delp, Derek Eubanks, Adam Seymore, Scott Shoemaker, Jack Wright

Serving Through 2027 • Jim Anderson, Marc Caldwell, Bud Ford, Zachary Gosser, Wes Helton, Mike Long, Eddie Stooksbury, Darick Vass

HOW TO SUBMIT RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Prayfully read Acts 6:1–6 and 1 Timothy 3:8–13 before making your recommendations.
  • You may recommend up to eight (8) men to serve a 3-year term beginning September 1, 2025
  • Not all slots are required to be filled.
  • Return the completed Deacon Recommendation Form to the Church Office or Offering Box by Saturday, May 31, 2025.
  • All forms must be signed by the Salem member submitting the recommendation.
  • Salem seeks a broad age representation among our deacons — please keep that in mind as you pray and recommend.
