Dear Salem Family,
Ken Sande said, “Trusting God does not mean believing he will do what you want, but rather believing he will do everything he knows is good.”
We are in a season of trusting like never before in our time. Covid-19 has caused everyone of faith to lean into God more than ever. As we seek to make decisions that honor our government and medical officials, we are having to adjust how we worship as a church family. We are continually seeking creative ways to connect and care for one another.
I have been so encouraged to hear of many within our church family making phone calls to check on others, provide meals for others, reaching out to others in need. And these are only the stories that have been shared with me.
I am convinced that followers of Jesus all over our city are making an impact for the Kingdom in unseen ways.
As a church staff, we are having to make many adjustments. Due to the “Safer at Home Order” issued today, March 23, 2020, by the Knox County Health Department, we will be closing our offices from March 24-April 6, 2020.
Our pastors and other staff will be working remotely during this time. We will continue to connect with our church family by phone, email, and text. In the event of an emergency, please call 865.315.8922. This is a Google Voice number that we have secured. One of our pastors will answer or return your call as soon as possible.
Our Sunday worship services for Sunday, March 29 & April 5, will be ONLINE ONLY. For those who are unable to listen online, the message portion of the worship service is broadcast on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. on WRJZ AM 620.
I want to thank you for your faithfulness in giving online or by mail during these days.
We are in constant prayer for those affected and feeling the effects of this crisis.
I am humbled and thankful to be your pastor!
